"In the first implementation, poker is going to be beta state; that means that it’ll also hit the productive worlds in a not yet finished state: It won’t use your money for the game and the games won’t be persistent (if the chat server restarts for some reason, the poker game state is not restored). This phase will be used to test if the game works in a large environment with lots of players and also to dent out possible errors (it’s nearly guaranteed that there’ll be rule bugs in the game) that shouldn’t affect players too badly. When we consider it stable enough, we’ll add persistence, so game states can be recovered and are permanent. Once that works, we’ll use your character’s money to play (so yes, if you’re good at poker, you might be able to gain a fortune at low levels… however, there’ll be a fee for playing, so this’ll be another money sink for the game)."
Pour résumer, dans un premier temps, vous jouerez avec de l'argent inexistant, pour tester le jeu tant qu'il traine des bugs. Puis dans un second temps pour pourrez enfin jouer (et gagner/perdre) des $$$ du jeu.

Donc, oui, si vous êtes bon au poker, vous pourrez peut-être faire fortune dès les premiers niveaux (y'aura des taxes tout de même)
